Make Your Voice Heard: Share Feedback with CMS to Influence the Future of MIPS Reporting

The deadline to comment on the 2026 Quality Payment Program (QPP) proposed rule is approaching! If you would like an opportunity to share your feedback with CMS on MIPS reporting in 2026, you must submit your comments by September 12, 2025, at 11:59 pm ET.

We encourage you to refer to our previous blogs for an overview of the major proposals and the Requests for Information (RFIs) in the rule.

We have also created a template to help you craft your comment letter, which you can download and edit as a Word document: Template Letter for MIPS Comments_2026 QPP Proposed Rule. This template lists the major proposals and RFIs in the rule and indicates space for your feedback. Be sure to modify or delete the highlighted portions in the template and remove any highlighting prior to submitting the letter to CMS.

You do not need to provide feedback on every proposal or every element of an RFI to submit comments. By sharing your feedback on the topics relevant to your practice, you will have a say in influencing the future of MIPS.

How to Submit Your Comments

  1. Go to the comment submission page for the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule.
  2. Under “Comment*”:
    1. If you are uploading a pre-written comment letter:
      1. Type in “Attached are [your name or organization name]’s comments on the 2026 proposed changes to the Quality Payment Program.”
      2. Upload the pre-written comment letter under “Attach Files.”
    2. If you are writing out your comments in the free text field:
      1. Important Note: It is important to use your own words because comments that are word-for-word the same will not be counted as separate comments.
    3. You can skip question 2: “What is your comment about?”. The dropdown menu is expansive and the question isn’t required.
    4. Type in your email address so that you can get a confirmation email that your comments have been received.
    5. Click on the option that best represents who you are submitting your comments on behalf of (an individual, an organization, or anonymous) and fill out the information for you or for your organization.
    6. Click “I’m not a robot” in the reCAPTCHA.
    7. Last, but not least: Make sure you click “Submit Comment”!
