Your Chance to Preview 2024 Medicare Care Compare Data Is Here
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has opened the 2024 Doctors and Clinicians Preview Period, which runs from May 13, 2026, to June 11, 2026, at 8 pm ET.
During this time, you can preview your 2024 Quality Payment Program (QPP) performance data before it becomes publicly available on the Medicare Care Compare tool and the CMS Provider Data Catalog.
CMS selects performance data based on what they think will be most meaningful for patients and caregivers. This includes certain 2024 MIPS Quality and Promoting Interoperability (PI) measures, as well as some Improvement Activities (IA) attestations.
Which Measures Will Be Publicly Reported?
CMS will publish data for 98 quality measures on the Medicare Care Compare tool. Performance on each of these measures will be displayed as a star rating on the individual clinician and/or group profile page.
We’ve listed the quality measures most relevant to our clients below, starting with measures that are generally applicable to most clinicians, followed by lists organized alphabetically by specialty. Most measures will be displayed on Care Compare for both group and individual reporters. However, some are specific to one reporting type only. These will be marked with "group only" or "individual only" next to the measure name.
Click on the dropdowns to view measures relevant to each specialty as well as general measures.
Note: There are additional quality measures that will be posted on the CMS Provider Data Catalog, but these files are largely accessed by researchers rather than patients. You can view the full list, as well as details on the collection type(s) that will be reported for each measure, in this file: Doctors and Clinicians Public Reporting: CY 2024 Quality Payment Program Performance Information on the Medicare.gov Compare Tool (PDF).
How Do I Preview My Performance Data?
You can preview your performance data by logging in to your QPP account. For detailed step-by-step instructions on how to access the preview, refer to this guide: CY 2024 Doctors and Clinicians Performance Information: Guide to the Preview Period (PDF).
